Help, how do I...
Hey, folks, help me out here, please.
I have a trade offer from my ally, offering to trade a specific ship for "Any ship 1" of mine.
I can't seem to accept it.
The best I can seem to manage is to counter-offer, offering a specific ship of mine, and wait for him to accept it next turn, or two turns from now, or however the hell that works.
Is there no way that I can fill in the "any ship" of his offer with a specific ship of mine, and accept that this turn?
There are....evil forces at large, and time is of the essence if the monkey-people and their allies are to survive!

Possum, first of all, how the heck you been? Haven't seem much of you lately.
Secondly, nope, the only way to complete the "any ship" transaction is to counter offer and name the ship you want to trade to him. This allows you to trade ships with an empire when you can't see each others space and can't see the ships involved before hand. Otherwise the "sight-unseen" trade would be impossible and you would have to move the ship you want to trade into view of one of his ships and then offer it in exchange for one of his you can see.

The same procedure applies for all "Any 'X'" offers; I just recently saw this myself for the first time in a trade of Star Charts.

Ah, OK, thanks, Geo
I see the Survivor I tournament is still going on, LOL. Askan is always a formidable opponent, but I'm rooting for Belisarius. Go, Jose Luis!

Re: Help, how do I...
Hey, JL!
Good to see you're still around and active here.
I was away from Se4 for a long while, nearly 6 months, I guess. I'm currently playing only one game, quikngruvn's Ay Chihuahua game at PBW. I actually stumbled into that one late, as a replacement for someone who'd quit.
Then we had a big brouhaha in which Geo and the other admins apparently caught a player named Tankgirl actively cheating at SE4, as hard as that is to imagine.
Cheaters suck!
What's new in Montevideo?

Yes, the cheaters sucks. Think that some people need to keep high their ego at any cost.
About something new here... well, we're waiting for the winter and trying to support the waves from Argentina!
Hey, I would be glad to play a new EFS game! Have you time?

Re: Help, how do I...
Oho! So you want to kick my *** at EFS again, do you?
LOL
I might be interested, if I could evolve a coherent strategy for offering you a bit more of a challenge this time!
JL, email me, please, at [email protected]
What does it mean, "trying to support the waves from Argentina"? I'm lost...
