Lady of Springs
This is from a recent game I'm playing with Eriu. I started in the middle of 5 AI opponents (only set on Difficult, but still, 5) who proceeded to bash the heck out of me.
I barely managed to survive in time to get alteration 3 and construction 4 researched, and I put out 5 sets of Rainbow Armor, Frost Brand, Vine Shield, and Dancing Tridents (all I could really make).
So about then I had 5 Sidhe Lords and about 2 provinces left. I proceed to attack! These guys are monsters, they've destroyed armies of 100 and 150, solo, attacking into PD... with a nice bless from Creedence!

Re: Lady of Springs
The AI is terrible at defending against SCs.

I know that. Everyone knows that. The startling thing is that you can make a true SC out of Sidhe Lords with about 30 gems. I'm sharing my wonderful experience with using this bless, which worked so well with them!

Re: Lady of Springs
I'm just a touch underwhelmed at the idea of beating up on AIs that basically have no way to fight back.

Re: Lady of Springs
When using sidhe lords as thugs, water 9 bless isn't that good because it adds need for more reinvigoration. Try E9N4-6 instead, you will find out that sidhe lords perform equally well with this bless and E9N4-6 is massively cheaper bless to get as well.

Re: Lady of Springs
They do have a way to fight back, a very valid way. They swarm all around and take your provinces away from you. Not even Chuck Norris could fight if he didn't have any income.

I found they don't kill fast enough that way. If you want to pursue them as a main strategy, it's more than possible, it's powerful, so I feel I must add it to their arsenal. And they can keep up with the reinvig with +7-10, which is cheap to obtain. The only time to really need to "worry" - hah! - is when one of them gets Heroic Quickness as their ability... which no less than THREE of them actually got, as you can see from the picture above! And this is all very early in the game, as soon as you can research Alteration 3 and Construction 4, it's on! Then of course Enchantment 4 for Cloud Trapeze.

Re: Lady of Springs
Not an easily impressed bunch, eh? Well I'm impressed Reno, your Sidhe Lords look awesome, I will have to try some of those out. Thematically they're really nice as well, and I think it fits pretty nicely having the Lady of Springs as their goddess and providing the bless as well.

Re: Lady of Springs
To round out the Lords' defense, you can also script in a ton of good spells with very low Alteration or Holy requirements, like:
Flight
Bless
Holy Avenger
Mistform
Barkskin
Air Shield
Elemental Fortitude
Resist Lightning
Resist Poison
With just Elemental Fortitude + Frost Brand + Resist Poison you get the following, so it's very easy to buff up an A2N1 thug:
50% fire resist
50% lightning resist
100% cold resist
100% poison resist
I was intrigued by Baalz's guide so I tried to think up a good bless to go with some good, cheap SCs. W9E9N4 is doable by Eriu and it fits the Lords like a glove.
And of course, the name the pretender had just had to be shown.
