Game getting stuck while processing turn - no PBEM
Hi all,
I bought your great game a few days ago and must say I am totally impressed by it - but I think you hear that in almost every new post so I will leave you be with this, hehe :-)
To the problem I encountered (Patch 3.04 installed):
After roughly around every 10-15 turns the game is getting stuck while the small turn-processing window is opened (the one which appears after you click "End turn") and the ai is working on something.
The subject the game was working on (words above the loading bar) is not the same every time, sometimes it happens at a turn in some combat, sometimes it happens while processing non-combat things.
It seems totally random where it gets stuck.
I thought that might a problem with my PC so I installed the game on my laptop but the results were the same:
It still gets stuck in this turn window after around 10-15 turns.
Is there any quick fix, solution or workaround for this?
For any help I would be really thankful :-(

That shouldn't be happenning. Just to make sure, re-download the patch and re-install from scratch. Also it could be a problem with a corrupted save. Did you try and start a new game? Otherwise, I would report this to customer support.
It sounds likes you might have some sort of software conflict or maybe a bad CD.

Johan mentioned this:
"Game freezing during turn resolution combined with strange graphic bugs in battle view is a symptom of a bad cd-key. So make sure you have a proper cd-key!"
I'm not sure this is your problem, but if you've problems with turn resolution it seems to be...

Re: Game getting stuck while processing turn - no
Hmm... this seems a bit unlikely if I look at my bank account and see the almost 70 Dollars (include shipping to europe) going away for the game :-)
I dont think its an issue with the CD, my battle graphic dont have any problems.
I will try installing the game again and downloading/installing the patch again, too.
Thanks for the quick support!

Well, I have the same problem in Linux, but not in Windows.
And yes, I bought the game.

Re: Game getting stuck while processing turn - no
Hrothgar, Calmon means the CD key from inside the manual. Clean install, re-do the key (triple checked) to make sure it is correct.
System specs and OS would be useful.
Otherwise, make sure to post here if you resolve it
But if not, let Shrapnel know. There is another thread with similar problems.

Have you tried waiting for longer periods of time?
Some of the older systems need more time.
If you're playing large maps on slow/old computers with lots of AI opponents where independent provinces are set for 1 or 2... then it could definitely slow down around turn_12.
Also before you play the game try turning off other applications running in the background such as your anti-virus because if your anti-virus is scanning one of the game files while processing the turn it could easily corrupt the game file.
Also you could check your Windows application/system log... any errors popping up during these hangs/crashes?
