Default Looking for standard human-made maps

I have been browsing the forums and the web to find just normal maps for Dom III, yet I seem to be out of luck. What I'm looking for is just (a collection of) normal, pretty maps very much along the lines of Silent seas or the others that come with the game. I do know that there is the random map generator, yet I find games with human-made maps so much better, not least because they are pretty, but also because I can play them over several times and thus become better.

Any maps out there?

1) You can start the map generator from the "tools" menue with many additional settings and save the generated maps.

2) You can use all the old maps from Dominions 2 - they are compatible.

www.illwinter.com has a nice collection of Dom2 maps that will work.

Also you can check out the daily generated maps at Dom2Minions.com

Dom3Minions.com hasnt started doing daily map generations yet

Now wait, I heard that many of the DomII maps didn't work. I haven't tested any myself so that's just hearsay, but assuming some don't work, could we compile a group list of those that are hunky dory?

They (should) work, all of them. At least, all those I tried did.

Who says otherwise?

I remember a report of Middle Earth map not working. I later read that it was due to a Water nation randomly placed in there. I haven't tested it in a while.

If any dont work then let us know. We can take a glance to see if there is any change that should be made. No reason to lose all of those great maps.

Of course, those maps dont have all the new terrains for making more reasonable magic site placements and such. But they should work.

I had problems loading Karan- when loaded the map was not displayed- seemed 'transparent' and showed only the background (the wooden table if that's what it is).

Regards

Well, thanks for clearing that up for me, then. I was hesitant to download the old maps, but now that I know they work, and it doesn't seem like many new ones are in the works, I'll head over and get 'em all! Wooo!
