Data Files corrupted????
I have a problem. One of my PBW games no longer lets me play. Every time I try to start the game to play my turn, I get the following (paraphrased) error message:
Data files currently used do not match the files used when this game was started. Check with your host to get the correct data files.
Problem is, I haven't changed any of the datta files. I'm the only one with the problem, so it must be on my 'puter somewhere, but..... But I didn't change anything!!! It's only turn 8, so the AI is probably really starting to hurt me now (it's run two turns now). If I can't get this fixed by turn 10, I'm going to withdraw and let someone else try to fix the AI's mess. But I like this game, and I don't want to quit it (good starting position .
Any help at all would be appreciated.
I tried re-downloading the turns. no good.
I tried running it without the mod picker (the games in it's own mod to keep ai-less shipsets out of solo games). No go.
Help!!!

Re: Data Files corrupted????
This has been happening with my latest game. But that is because I use a mod. This looks like it was added in the most recent patch (as I've never seen it b4). It is telling you that your current files in your 'Data' folder do not match the ones used when the game was created. Get in touch with the person who created the game. The files in your data folder must match the files in his data folder. (I believe they added this so people could not modd the CompEnhancement.txt file during the game to get cheap mounts/ships etc.).
Hopefully I have said something that helps (tired...must...go...to...bed )

Re: Data Files corrupted????
Deathstalker is right, you have to use the same files as the host uses. Either you or the host has changed its data files somehw and now you are out of sync. Try to get the data files the host uses and put them in a seperate mod folder for example.

Re: Data Files corrupted????
Would the host of the game be the game Admin (Quickngruven) or PBW? But I think I might have narrowed the search for which file down. I recently changed my components.txt to Tampa gamer's sound mod that is compatable with v1.49. I _thought_ that I had done this before the game started. But since I'm the only one experiencing problems, I'm pretty sure that is the change has to be on my computer. Since the Components.txt file is the only data file I have edited.... I think that narrows the search somewhat.
So, the question remains, who's component.txt file do I have to match up with, Quick's or PBW's? If it's Quick's, would You be willing to send me your components.txt file (or post it here, either way. I don't think my email addy is public, so I guess that probably narrows your choices....). If I have to match PBW's, I'll have to get an admin to send it to me. I really don't relish the thought of having to back up 4 mod folders, re-installing, and repatching. Call me lazy.
