Default ATK fortress help

my austria '84 scenario has experienced significant snags in the efficency of the fortress (i.e. bunker) anti-tank units. my information is largely annecodtal, but informed, but i am trying to reconcile it with the results the game engine spits out...some help would great.

1.) all the Austrian bunker - atk cannons(sorry, no tech in front of me) have a very low accuracy levels, to the extent that they have eg only 15% accuracy with the 90mm ATG at a 500m slow-moving (ca. 7mph) APC. Anecdotaly this should be 60-80% (this with 60 experience). My bunkers are placed high (level 20) and shooting down (level 0). In RL this is accounted for o/c in the placement and sighting, but maybe the game-enginer sees it differently? It is interesting that the 85mm towed ATK seems to have much higher accuracy, albeit at lower ranger. In RL the bunker ATG were considered much more accurate.

2.) Penetration rates for all, including the centurion L7 turrent (which i don't use) is pretty dismal. The 90mm has some chance at a T-55, the 105mm none-centurion cannon virtualy none at all. Again, the 90mm cannon was supposed to be able a deliver a fairly high PoK for a T-72 at ranges under 800m, and was virtually garanteed a kill with a T-55 at 2000m.

Does anyone have any suggestions with what i should replace the existing cannons with, or which measures i should adjust to get the expected results?

I'm sure better suggestions will follow but...

You could of course tweak the experience ratings but that would give the bunkers some outrageous rallying ability. How about turning up the fire control, range finder and vision settings. The bunkers would still have the same rally/suppression effects but the guns would be much more accurate. Also look to find which ammo type is the most destructive for the guns and then switch the ammo for the bunkers to ALL ammo of that type. Might work out for you.

not bad suggestions, but it dosen't really work - suddenly the bunkers are able to discharge rounds twice as quickly as the tanks, but the rounds still don't penetrate anything.

actually i might have solved it - i moved the bunkers down from a high of 20 over 0 to 10 over 0. low and behold, accuracy and penetration rates have improved quite signifcantly - although i do not have the faintest idea why.
