blessing bonuses?

so the game gets pretty easy for a blood mage. my pride unit does a pretty good job of levelling armies single handedly... shes a succubus wearing the aegis, the summit, amon hotep, boots of stone, krupps braceer, and the chalice. the reult is, as you can imagine, pretty formidable.

I thought that it would be a good idea to make her my profit, then she'd be blessed, and you see, on this huge map, with armies of devil, i've had the time to empower my pretender to 9 in every path... so i was thinking it would make a difference...

turns out, maybe not so much.

do blessing bonuses only apply to the magic you start the game with? is that how it works? noyt to schools you've empowered up further?
