Star Trek Mod Map Error?
When using any of the available Star Trek Mod Maps, I keep getting an error when clicking on either warp points or planets. Either I get an actual exception error, or the mouse simply doesn't register a click. Also, I'm getting bizarre planet graphics. I've installed all of the image mod files... Someone fix this before I fart Jazz music.

Blah. See Fyron's post above or below depending on your settings.

Re: Star Trek Mod Map Error?
The maps were created when Star Trek Mod still incorporated FQM Deluxe 2.09. The mod no longer uses FQM Deluxe (it now uses FQM Standard), so the maps are invalidated. You can use the mods by splicing the attached data files into the STM\Data folder.

Re: Star Trek Mod Map Error?
THe mod does still use FQM Deluxe, the version that changed FQM D to FQM Standard has not yet been released.
I too could not get the Star Trek maps to work with any of the latest versions of FQM standard or deluxe. This was one of the reasons I opted to just use Standard this time out since it had no real affect on the maps and the maps are being removed from the mod until they can be remade.
Using FQM D is much more preferable, and I may still use it if I can get the maps to work.

The last dozen or so releases of STM have used FQM Standard, not FQM Deluxe.

The maps without a shadow of doubt work with FQM Deluxe 2.09, and probably work with several older versions of FQM Deluxe as well, since the last modification of SectType.txt before 2.10. They will never work with any SectType.txt file that is not the one from FQM Deluxe 2.09, save possibly a few text modifications (ie: not moving anything around).

You changed from FQM Deluxe to FQM Standard many, many versions ago (but several versions after the STM Maps were created). This is why the maps no longer work. As I recall, the reason you changed to FQM Standard was because you received too many complaints from people that failed to read the readme and follow the instructions for installing the FQM Deluxe system bitmaps.

The STM Maps will never work with any FQM past 2.09, since 2.10 completely revamped the SectType.txt file in the name of planet type/atmosphere balance.

Re: Star Trek Mod Map Error?
So should I use 2.09 or not? I recall now the problem with people not following the directions. I also recall telling them that they could use the Star Trek Maps, pre-1.3.2 by replacing the files in STM with the files from FQM D.

Re: Star Trek Mod Map Error?
Fyron do you still have a copy of FQM Deluxe 2.09 laying around? If you do could you send me ONLY the files I would need to get the Star Trek Maps working?
What I am going to do is include the FQM Deluxe files in with the maps. A player who wants to use the maps will have the data needed to use them.
Of course they will have to rename their data folder Orginial or something before using the one I am going to include with the maps or else they might muck up their mod files good.
