Home world "planet conditions"

Recently I've noticed with every new game I start, conditions on my home planet always start out as "unpleasant." Conditions on many planets, in fact, are "unpleasant."

I'm wondering if I've corrupted some file and need to reinstall the game.

Has anyone else experienced this?

An on an unrelated topic...I'm a bug fan of Isaac Asimov's "Foundation" series. Has anyone ever tried doing a ruler portrait of The Mule?

Unpleasant is about average.

I'm not sure if the homeworld quality setting in game setup affects your homeworld conditions, but you could try adjusting that setting.

I do not believe that homeworld settings affect conditions. I have seem mild, good and optimal HWs before, but unpleasant does seem to be rather common.
