The FAQ needs a copy of all charts and tables in an appendix, methinks. Or, at least a list of titles with section references.

This was not as easy as it would seem. By the time I maneuver and arrive at my destination they are only one sector behind. But that is all I need.
Would have been better if the extra movement was spread out more evenly.

Getting out of the corner safely should not be a problem.
Edit: Hmm, examining the chart, it appears that emergency propulsion works in a very non-intuitive way. Rather than simply calculating movement days as normal with the total movement available instead of the base, the normal movement schedule for the base speed is simply modified by cramming all the extra moves in as early as possible after the first normal speed move.

That's not the speed 18 chart - it's the speed 13+5 chart.
As douglas wrote, Emergency Propulsion gets a ship moving at speed 30 for the first days, and thereafter using up its movement points 1/day until it gets back on the usual schedule for its speed. Kinda weird, but makes a little sense for emergency propulsion. What happens, I wonder, if you exceed speed 30 through modding...
