The Malfador-supplied background information is often internally contradictory. I've edited many of them now and lost the original text. I'd have to reinstall to find some of the crazy things I remember now, but there are some really strange and uncoordinated statements in those 'history' blurbs. This in addition to simple spelling and grammatical errors that any decent word processor would have caught if they'd just used to spellcheck/grammarcheck features.
The races seem to be fairly hasty creations that were not well imagined. This means you can make them what you want, though...
