Default Your Recommendation on AI Please

I have been away from SE IV for a while. I would like to play against a strong AI(wouldn't we all). Please share with me opinions on the best mod for enhanced AI. I need one that is REALLY REALLY easy to install. Thanks

TDM-Modpack is the way to go. Some standout special characteristics noted from turn 60 in my really big game :

1) Goes to Brotherly - Eee, Phong, Toltayan, Colonials, Narn, Toron
2) Goes to Murderous - Sallegra, Drushocka, Krill, Xichung
3) Long term winners - Amonkrie, Sergetti, Eee, Abbidon, Pyrochette, Cryslonite, Sallegra, Piundan
4) Long term losers - Ukra Tal, Phong, Toron, Cue Cappa, Narn, XiChung, Colonials, Krill
5) Tough early opponent - Rage
6) Long term opponent, does lots of research - Amonkrie, Pyrochette, Toltayan, Toron, Eee, Drushocka, Cryslonite
7) Long term opponent - treaty makers Drushocka, Krill, Colonials, Toron, Sallegra, Phong, Ukra Tal
8) Build lots of units - Piundan, Colonials, Xi Chung, Narn, Rage, Toron, Pyrochette, Sergetti
9) Few units, relies on ships - Cryslonite, Krill, Phong, Ukra Tal, Abbidon

Perhaps the Modpack designers would care to comment here ?

From the TDM-Modpack, I like the Rage, Klingon, Romulan, and the Pyrochette (yes,
I did the Pyrochette's AI, then, if you distrust, I can understand! ).
Also, I like the Cue Cappa Version that "Q" did.

About the Pyrochette:

- They need some time to have competitive ships (they use Missile ships until get Temporal Weapons).
- In the early game they're vulnerable against PPB weapons.
- The way that I found to help them to survive the early game, is researching Mines in the first turns.
- They use Cloaked Attack ships, but for this, those ships doesn't have included minesweepers devices (the minesweeper device doesn't work if the ship is cloaked). It mean that they're vulnerable against mine fields.

They also spread the damned things all over the place, though I have found some concentrations of mines at some points. Nearly 200 (I set the mine and satellite limit to 200 each in my games) which I find impressive, if annoying when I'm fighting them.

Umm...interesting. So I download the modpack and install into Version 141. Then create my own race.... and wait to see who shows :-) or must I pick one of the mod races as my own and play against the others?

If you want to play against the mod pack races, you should select them using the "Add Existing" button, then edit them to set them as a computer player rather than a human player. That should be it.

Regards,
GE

PS: I suggest that you give the AI at least a low bonus. A lot of races can make use of a medium bonus but most cannot make use of the extra resource points that high bonus gives - this can be changed by adjusting the values in the Construction Vehicles files...

eg if the value for Attack ship is 20 say, it should be adjusted to 10 if you intend to use high bonus and want the AI to take advantage of the extra resource points it will get....
