Renaming commanders

Hi, easy question. Where do I go to rename commanders? It will be a great function, once my small brain is shown the light.

When you have a commander in big view (looking at stats and equipment) then hit "r"

I think renaming has to be turned on as an option when the game is started for this to work.

Hit "r" (I think it has to be lower case) when you are inspecting that commander (as if you were giving him items or checking out her flavor text).

Cheers folks! I saw it in the new game start up and turned the option on, but then could not sort out how to use it.
