Forge of the Ancients
Is it just me, or does anyone else think that this ritual is way powerful (perhaps too much so)? I just cast one, for the first time ever, and I've noticed that even my blood mages (which I previously had no use for other than as researchers) can create items regardless of the item's path requirements?!! I have Blood-1 mages forging Shrouds, Horror Helms, and all manner of other handy items of paths that the forging mage doesn't have. Is this the correct behavior, or a massive bug?

Re: Forge of the Ancients
It is intentional. And no it's not overpowered. Dispel is a very real threat and you still have to forge the items you'd like and put them to use on a commander that can use them to it's full effect.
Forge of the Anciets gives it's forge bonus and +1 to all paths for purposes of forging. So even a 1 Blood mage can forge anything that requires 1 Path to forge.

Re: Forge of the Ancients
Forge of the Ancients gives all mages an extra point in every sphere for the purpose of forging items.
EDIT: oops, crosspost

Re: Forge of the Ancients
its very difficult to cast it in multiplayer, as with the base cost (70 or 80 dont remember)you have to strengthen it with perhaps 70+ additional gems. Who can really accumulate 150 earth gems without being hampered much? Its a sacrifice, and for that you get a nice bonus. Quite normal I would say.

That explains it. Shrouds and Horror helms being S1 and D1, respectively.
Heck, for the 80E cost, I'd've been happy with just the 50% gem cost reduction across the board that it gives you.
We really, really need the spells equivalent of your excellent magic item document! And while I'm being greedy, one for critters too ...
