Mixed feelings
Now that I have tried the demo I don't really know what to think about this. The game has some really good sides and some that are rather confusing.
1. The map generator seems to be a good one.
2. There is a lot of items and that is nice. Just that some of the items are totally useless. You don't even get any money from selling them.
3. Inventory is bad. It isn't very realistic that a ring takes same amount of space as an axe.
4. The games is too easy. Even with master difficulty the monsters are weak.
5. Balance isn't very good. I ended up with loads of money after selling items in the shops.
In the other Posts Malfador says that some things might be changed. I think I will wait and see if the game gets better before buying it.

Re: Mixed feelings
I've noticed that if you can right click really fast, you will kick *** unless you are completely swarmed, even on Master difficulty.

Re: Mixed feelings
I too have mixed feelings. I think the bottom line for me is that I do not like the combat. I becomes a right-click frenzy - not much role playing there. I personally have never cared for real time combat of any type and was very dissapointed to find that the combat is almost an afterthought in DO. With that being said, I think the graphics are fine and the interface was fine. I like the skills and classes quite well, but ultimately this feels like an arcade game to me rather than a rpg.
The game was entertaining, so for myself I think it is more of a personnal preference than anything that is holding me back from purchase.
One other note, I had no technical difficulties, and the prorgram seems well developed.

Re: Mixed feelings
I think combat should be more like Dungeon Siege in that you should only have to click on an enemy once and then your character continues to attack or cast spells at it until it dies or you do something else with him.

Re: Mixed feelings
Aaron has said in another thread to email all suggestions for changes/enhancements to him at [email protected]. He obviously checks this board sometimes, but you can get your ideas to him directly via email.
He's allready heard about the inventory system, I bet, but more wouldn't help. Email away.
About the difficulty, it looks like it'll be super easy to mod monsters, weapons and player stats to make the game much more challenging if you wish.

Re: Mixed feelings
Hi All,
You're right about the comments and suggestions, just email them in to me at [email protected].
As for the difficulty, the monsters on the first few maps are easy so that the player can learn the game without getting killed (think first map on Diablo). The monsters ramp up in difficulty when you finally make it into the caves, dungeon, and temple.

Re: Mixed feelings
Regarding Combat -- Given the game style, Its unlikely to switch beyond real-time. I suppose he could throw a combat engine in there but Im tired of the typical Dragon Warrior/FF combat style as it is anyway, and this seems almost refreshing (albeit a bit fast...) and its very interactive... And no offence to Aaron or whoever else, but I wager that the ****ty demo hardly scratches the surface of what we can all do to this baby.
The framework for a damn good game is there, and I love the druid summons and such... Them snakes start kicken ***. And might I add -- very few people put Druids into anything, and they fooken rock! ((Im hoping somehow that at a high skill level, that druid shapeshifting **** can be implemented, allowing for an Icon/Stat change of the character for a limited time.))
And hey -- Its Malfador!
**** Diablo, that Overrated pile of puke.
