Thank goodness I am not alone in the universe. I found occasional bits amusing, but hated the characters. I know that was the point, but they were so reprehensible. I was glad they met the end that they did.

One of my favorite movies has got to be Ghostbusters. I can watch that one over and over again.

oh yeah, can't remember the names, but with characters archie and edith bunker. it was hilarious and touching. examined the social issue's of the day. one thing i like about it was that no one person on it was held up to be 'what you are supposed to be'. everyone had their faults (even edith ) and everyone had their good side (even archie ). all in the family, that's it.

Tiny Toons and Animaniacs were awesome. Now its all about Simpsons and The Family Guy.

As for movies I love the Kevin Smith movies.

Animaniacs I can't disagree with (Are you pondering what I'm pondering?) but I never rated Tiny Toons. Simpsons are excellent and Family Guy is pretty good.

This is another show I just don't like, even after all these years. I can't really pin it down as to why I hate this show. Maybe at the time it came out I was in my early adolscence and just didn't get the social commentary, or maybe Archie was just too much of a bigot for my tastes. I just don't know. Even now, I can't stand to watch the re-runs.

yes, but that was deliberate. the guy who played archie was actually a liberal and i think he wanted to stick all the arrogant stink into one box, so to speak.

I thought the show was a hysterically funny social satire, but you really needed to be at least working for a living to appreciate it. You also need to understand the world at the time it was aired. Now, people are afraid of each other, fearful of expressing dissenting honest opinions. The pointed commentary of "All in the Family" would be too scary.

That's my point. I wasn't working at the time, and I was in my pre-adoloscent years when the show started. I didn't have a real understanding of the world at the time. And if my wife turns it to TV Land or Nick at Nite when it's on, I'll ask her to turn it or I leave the room. I just don't want to watch it.
