The Drushocka followed up on their recent declaration of war by sending a cruiser into the Calonica system. The republic's military appears to have been caught with their pants down, as there is not a single RDF warship to be seen in the system. Minister of Defense DeadMeat was unavailable for comment, but System Lord Puke is expected to make a statement after his emergency meeting with the Calonican Militia.
Informal polls indicate very low confidence that the ancient network of 4 year old orbital defense satellites will prove to be more than a distraction for the high tech ships of today.
Only the recently formed and as-yet unnamed fighter squadron based on Calonica Primus can hope to intercept the aliens before they strike. Unless they can delay the warship long enough for RDF reinforcements to arrive, the situation looks grim.
