Default 2003 PBW Open Tournament is going out with a whimper

There just isn't enough interest to continue at this point. I had three round two games up for a couple weeks and just not enough people joined.

So here's what I am going to do. Forget about it being a double elimination tournament. Everybody that lost their first round game, sorry, the tournament is over for you. Once the remaining two first round games are over I will setup a single game for all the winners of the round one games that are still interested in playing. The winner of that will be the tournament champion.

Sorry to everyone disapointed by this. The idea just ran out of gas I guess.

I most apologize for my forgetfulness. Actually, I remember the message anouncing the games and that people needed to pick one to join. I also remember thinking (slyly) that I'd wait and see who joined and make sure I picked the one that Asmala ( ) didn't join (OK, so I'm a big coward!). Anyway, it appears the whole thing just slipped my mind soon thereafter.

(I hate it when someone goes to the trouble of sponsoring something and I fail to keep up my "end of the deal")

I'm not pointing fingers. On or two more people woulndn't have made a difference anyway. We had seven first round games. To this point I had only 3 second round games and none of them were full. It was obvious the interest just wasn't there.

I am going to do keep doing tournaments and competitions, but myabe the time is past for the big multi-round dealies. At least until SE5 comes out.
