MP Question

Once an MP game starts, I believe you can hand a human nation over to the AI. Can the reverse be done? What if a player drops, and we set it to AI for a turn and a replacement is found after it has been set to AI. The new player may not care if it has been set to AI for one turn. Can we switch back from AI to human once it is AI?
