Question about mines

Do weapons over a certain "size" (as in any of the weapon factors) detonate mines? I seem to remember artillery exposing minefields, but does this actually detract from the number of mines in a hex? I'm sure someone has tried, which is why I'm asking, but would it be possible to implement line charges and other obstacle demolition equipment to any degree?
