Why did my mages not attack?

I scripted shamans:

Communion Slave, Body Ethereal, Hold, Hold, Hold, Attack Rear.

Throughout the whole battle, the shamans stood there, didn't even cast spells or attack.

Is it just me or does being a slave mean you don't get to do a single thing?
