Differences between Old and Gold

Hello,

I bought the original Space Empires IV a while ago and recently started replaying it with the TDM Mod pack.

I have just ordered the Gold Version. Will this have anything extra in it other than it being compatable - hopefully

- with the numerous newer Mod packs?
