That defeats the purpose of using PNG. PNG is designed for lossless compression. You might as well use JPGs if you are going to use overly compressed PNGs.

The are rendered at 128 x 128 and then converted to PNG from BMP. There is no file size compression. PNG images are just smaller in size over all. They take up less space on the Site. The color loss might be due to ACDSee's conVersion process.
