Something Very Strange

I've been working on a scenario for three days, a lot of hours and saving as I go.

I did a final save, zipped it, and then saved the zip in two places.

I decided to test it, and when I opened the game, IT WAS NOT THERE, just the default screen. Text file is there, CMT tile is there, but the SPscn...dat file is empty.

By that what I mean is that the default screen shows up. This means that I saved the default screen. But how could that happen. It was not on the default screen when I save it?

I've done many scenarios in my time but I've never had anything like this happen. What could it possibly be? Any ideas?

Dozens of hours wasted. It is nowhere to be found.
