Enemy units cost
Hi
I started a new (hard) Long Campaign for USA. In the second battle, in 1943, the Germans units cost is half the buying price. That way they were able to buy really much more units than me.
In many scenarios the enemy unit cost also has nothing to do with their buy price.
What affects that cost?

Re: Enemy units cost
In regards to the "new (hard) Long Campaign for USA".... what do you based your comment that " the Germans units cost is half the buying price" ??
I double checked before answering and in the test "(hard) Long Campaign " I just set up I identified a German infantry unit and compared the cost shown in the game and it's 23 points and in MOBHack AND in the info section ( at exp=70 ) it's shown at 22 points.
So where do you get the "half the buying price" from ????
Sceanrios are given the cost that was applicable at the time they were made and we have refined and adjusted the cost calculator a dozen times since we built it so if a unit cost 34 points 6 years ago and it's 55 now it will still be 34 on the scenario and the same is true if it cost 16 points when it was made and costs 34 now. it will be what it cost then. That's a fundamental aspect of the game and YOUR units will reflect what they cost when the scenario designer built it as well

From the Right-click enemy unit info. When I'm buying it for a battle everything is fine.
You can check it in the campaign save here:

Re: Enemy units cost
Not bothered to download but you CAN NOT get enemy unit costs in battle only your own. Right clicking shows the unit info screen & the cost there is always the same, that for an experience 70 unit. The Germans will on average be a bit more expensive as there base morale is 75 the same as yours, later in the game it drops & they will become cheaper.
Experience effects cost you pay more for better experience & you can see this with your own units. First screen shows there statistics & second screen is the info screen identical to what you see for the enemy & shows the cost at experience 70.
So either you have been playing for a while & have high experience or you bought some expensive stuff OB artillery say at 250+ points which is roughly an Infantry Company. Only other possibility is you have the AI% ramped up in preferences.
I to am on my 3rd battle in the same campaign with AI at 125% & yes there are a heck of a lot of Germans. Its the tanks that are a worry last battle I destroyed 45 armoured vehicles which is 3 times my total armour. They got I am guessing about the same amount of infantry & more arty but I had more transport. A halftrack equates to a squad or 1/4 to 1/3 of a tank. A company of them & your starting to talk off board artillery prices.

Re: Enemy units cost
For that battle those values differ for all troops
After the battle I could check that their experience was correct, around 70.
I have the troop quality values set as XXX.
It was my second battle, so most of my troops were below 80exp points.
I quickly checked the next battle in campaign and the problem is not present there.

Re: Enemy units cost
Were you looking at an ongoing game, spanning the patch introduction?.
In which case, please recollect that the points system has been changed, as mentioned in the release notes. It's more marked in MBT than WW2 however.
But if comparing an ongoing core or saved game units with the new database defaults, the old units may be a little higher cost-wise.

Re: Enemy units cost
No, I've started the campaign after applying the V6 patch. I don't use any non-graphical mods.
