Windows 8
Has anyone tried getting Dominions 3 to run in Windows 8? Is this doable?
I'm thinking of buying a tablet to replace my laptop. But I'd like to be able to play Dominions on it while lounging in front of the TV. Don't know how likely this is.

Re: Windows 8
Windows 8 is supposedly backwards compatible, so dom3 should run just fine.
But playing it on a tablet... ugh.

Re: Windows 8
well, I'd need one of those keyboard docks, sure. But beyond that it should be fine, no?

Re: Windows 8
Reading about Windows 8 features, can we assume there will be a Dom 3 update to take advantage of new stuff (e.g. Dom 3 interface to support dual-screen interface) ?

Re: Windows 8
No reason why you couldn't do it even now. Run Dom3 in windowed mode on the desktop and then toss Desktop to one half of the dual while using something else in the other half.

Re: Windows 8
I am running Dominions 3 on a windows 8 workstation. I just copied all the files over from my old windows XP HDD. Have a SSD on the new system which seems to help the AI with it's thinking.

It's more likely a faster processor is helping the AI think. It won't take advantage of multiple cores, but if the processor is faster per core, you should see an improvement.

Re: Windows 8
An improvement? A reduction in the time elapsed between turns. Which must constitute 0.001% of the total playing time.
