Default Missing File in Demo

Guys,

I have just downloaded the demo for this game and installed it. But when I try to run it I get the error message "Unable to locate component." "This application has failed to start because D3dx9_33.dll was not found."

I am running Vista. Does anyone know what this file is, what it does, and where I get get it?

Thanks.

Best wishes,
Steve

I had the same problem. I believe you have to download the latest
Direct X update from Microsoft.

ISG,

I will check but I am pretty sure that I already have the latest Direct X drivers. Version 11 according to my diagnostic tool...

Best wishes,
Steve

Hope it works out for you, let us know if you solved the problem.

The game specs calls for Direct X 9.0 or better.

I Think that I had that, I cannot remember, but I am using Windows XP Media Edition, maybe Vista i different.

Maybe you can try to just download the required DLL file and copy it to your windows system dir. That may not work if it is not in your windows regestry.

1SG,

Thanks for the response but no I am not having any luck running the demo. DirectX 11 on my system so 9.00 or better should not be the problem.

It is a little frustrating. I am open to suggestions as to anything else it could be.

Best wishes,
Steve

So I deleted the demo because I could never get it to work and I am moving on....
