Default Pre-Game Discussion: AssimilationParanoia

What do I want from this thread.
Suggestions, and vague posts if somebody is interested in such a game.

AssimilationParanoia
Resistance is futile…!

Timetable:

Start of game: ~ end of January at the earliest

Winning conditions:
Primary winning condition: Last non AI-player.
Secondary winning condition: Half province owned or half VP owned (AI gets dissed)
So its possible to win, with only a sieged non capital fort owned (not probable)

Settings:
Age: Multi Age or Middle Age
Max Players: as many as possible, worst case - change to an bigger map
Independent strength: standart or 9, opinions?
Score graphs: On
Hall of fame entries: 15
Research: difficult or very difficult
Special site frequency: 50+ not more than 70, opinions?
Money, Resources, Supplies: standard
Random event frequency: standard
Renaming: On
Number of starting provinces: standard (1)

Mods:
Assimilation (Coquered lands) (One Age if finished, MA if not)

Map:
a big one.

Rules:
  • No turn extensions, for whatever reasons.
I realise there are more important things than Dom3.
If there is such a thing coming up for you, then its more important.
So you stall or if you can plan for it, find a [temp.] sub)
  • 3 votes needed for increasing turn interval (starting intervall will be: 24 h)
For better countability, quote the first or second request and say “aye”.
  • If you stall two (or three?) times in a row, you get set to AI.
Or if someone wants into the game, sees your stalling in the stalling statistics and posts before you are set to AI, then he gets your nation.
(And if my nation is kaputt (destroyed), it will be probably me who takes over)
  • Quasi-Anonymous:
Meaning? You look at the game stats site on llamaserver, to see which nations are free and send a pretender. WITHOUT telling anyone you did it.
Well you can tell. But see next point.
  • Diplomacy: Lets call it Paranoid Machiavellian.
You get an Forum-PN right after your expansion army bumped into another expansion army and lost: “What abysmal puny forces you have. I’ll conquer you with my starting army.” signed with name of other nation.
Maybe a third party had an scout in this province and wants you two to fight?
You have an weak nation as neighbor?
    You want to rush it?
But maybe its played by [enter your favorit/hero veteran player name]. He tells (or someone tells you) that’s not the case, or it’s the case! Can you trust your information?
  • Don’t cheat
(play two nations at once, sub for another player and send his things to you, that sort of thing)

Open for discussion:
  • opinions on big maps? (Fearun?, Oeridia?)
  • Increasing turn interval, how about not needing three aye votes, but thre netto aye votes (subtracting nay votes).
  • Banning of nations.
The only reason for banning (for me) would be, the feared unit limit.
I heard the unit limit got increased, after a big game crashed…?

Depends on how you define FreeSpawn.

LA Ermor and LA Rlyeh are the only nations whose dominion spawns troops inherently. EA and MA Pangaea and EA Rlyeh have commanders available in their castles who cause freespawn troops to appear in provinces they are camping in, and every age of Pangaea has access to a spell that kills all their population and freespawns undead all over the place. LA Ulm has a commander they can buy in their home province who has a summon allies command, and a national summoning at level 0 that makes a commander who freespawns troops. MA Ermor and EA Lanka have the special power where their normal priests can reanimate the dead. Every era of Mictlan can kill a bunch of bloodslaves at high blood research to make Onaquis, who dominion spawn beast bats.

So where do you draw the line?

    -Frank

Just to note: v1.1 of the mod has been released. It includes some changes to EA and MA, as well as an all new LA version of the mod. Haven't put together an all-ages version yet, but we'll see.

Thanks! (Even if it seems like I will need a smaller game [no interest in a big on], and would not need the all-ages version)
