Re: Dominions 3 on Facebook?
Really, is that your retort? Please pardon me as I will be off-topic for the next two paragraphs.
Any form of communication can and will have an impact on life. Just because you don't take a website seriously doesn't mean that anything you say is without meaning. The medium of communication is mostly irrelevant. It doesn't matter if it was facebook, myspace, or a phone call. The fact remains that you directed an offending opinion at someone. This all assumes however that the aforementioned person is actually a friend and not some unimportant contact.
If there is a reason why what you communicated is not to be taken seriously, it is because you are actually a stranger to this girl. You clearly can't call this person up in order to correct the issue. I even wonder if you've met this person face-to-face. Facebook can be a toy or a tool depending on how you use it. It sounds like you use it as a toy to fill in your spare time. That's fine, but don't blame the toy for being a toy when it can clearly be used in a more productive capacity.

I find it interesting that you would use Facebook for the purpose of playing Dominions. Frankly, I'm don't see the point. This forum does a fine job of getting games together. I'm sure a lot of us come from different walks of life and are only joined by this one common thing. So I much prefer the anonymity that this forum offers. There also exists a great deal of a knowledge base her, which wouldn't be accessible directly from Facebook.
I also don't like the idea of mixing a guilty pleasure that I enjoy with complete strangers with something I use exclusively to facilitate real life interactions. Actually, I planned on starting a personal game with just me and my friends, and I would much rather handle the game here rather then on Facebook, even though all of them are there as well.
I'm sorry, but you'll have to visit the Shrapnel Games website in order to find me.
