New Country OOB Projects
I've decided to create this thread both to gather some community feedback on some projects on my to-do list, and also provide a central place where people working on these kind of OOBs can post their work as well.
The ones I've completed so far are:
Haiti
Dominican Republic
Philippines
Sri Lanka
My Vietnam Total Conversion pack also features Laos (which hasn't been released as a stand-alone OOB).
Currently on my hopeful to do list are:
Mexico
Singapore
I do have a question about Singapore though. The thing that's been preventing me from starting work has been largely the debate about how to structure it. No existing OOB matches Singapore's independence dates, and prior to that it was effectively part of Malaysia. If I were to start work on such a project, would people prefer I make a separate OOB using stock Malaysian formations until Singaporean independence or would it be better to try and create a dual Malay/Singapore OOB?

I would think that you wouldn't want to make a dual Malay/Singapore one since a Malaysian Singapore conflict would one of the more likely ones.

Same here, you can always work around conflicts within the same country, but we are talking two separate entities in the same OOB here. Anyone including the IA selecting units for Singapore vs Malaysia and reverse is bound to pick in the wrong basket at some point.
Is it even remotely possible that you do the Singapore part in the current Malaysia OOB for the sake of game release, and then create a stand-alone copy with the Malaysian part deleted?

Re: New Country OOB Projects
For those of you who are interested, I am now maintaining a google site for these projects:
http://sites.google.com/site/spreadsheetcommando/
All updates will be placed there. No further announcement will be made on this board.

Re: New Country OOB Projects
You might want to correct the line on that webpage that says
Quote:
The SPCamo Team included a tool called Mobhack with its releases of both WinSPMBT and WinSPWWII
|
"MOBHack" as an editing tool has been issued with every version of these games right back to sp2ww2 that was released in Dec 1998 and , in fact, predates that by a year or two. Andy built them to edit the OOB's in SP2 and SP3 so it predates the Win versions of these games by nearly 10 years.

Will do. I never played the releases before the Windows capable variants, so that was how it was on my end. I will be sure to add a note about this.

Re: New Country OOB Projects
After 10 months of self-imposed hiatus after my hissy fit I've decided to return to the forums. I think I was the only one who was offended and really had no good reason to be.
The google site will still be the go to point for these things, and I'm not sure how much time or energy I'm going to be able to put forward towards them anymore. Real life has really gotten in the way of this. If people are really interested in the Singapore OOB then please tell me, since it might provide the impetus to finally finish it off. I'm also thinking of starting a thread/s for OOBs like South Vietnam in the same vein as the one Marcello did for Iraq, pointing out various things and providing sources and suggestions to be taken as is for consideration in future updates.

Thats a great idea! More OOB accuracy never hurt. I bet every OOB
would improve as a result of such attention. Welcome back.
