Default New Type of Attack: Knockback ---- Suggestion

A new type of interesting attack would be "knockback". If the enemy target unit is smaller it could be knocked backwards one square for every 10 strength points of the owner. This could be a special trait such as trampling.

I see units being moved from the trampling effect so I would estimate it's possible. Perhaps Illwinter could add this into their Dominions_4 list of ideas.

Sounds like a Hero mechanic. *sigh* I love Hero. I wish I could find a gaming group to play with.

This idea sounds cool.. it does sort of seem like a human being hit by a giant's club should be knocked around some. Although, normally, they are just killed, heh.

Sounds like a cool idea, but it probably shouldn't work every hit, maybe like 50% chance for knockback every hit. I also think knockback range should be based on Size more than Strength, like how Trample damage is based on size. It wouldn't really be so much the strength of the attacker that sends the enemy flying (though that should have some sort of factor in it), but the mass and momentum behind the swing.

For example, say we give the knockback quality to a size 3 and a size 5 with identical STR. Since the size 5 monster would have more mass than the size 3, the force behind 5's blows should knock a standard size 2 enemy farther than 3's hits.

If course, we could try giving knockback a numerical value as well, allowing you to knockback as if you were that many sizes larger than you are.

I agree... some 30%; 40%; or 50% would be more logical.

Units that survive being trampled do get knocked a bit.

I was intrigued by what Hero was, so I looked it up.

pokes fun> Perhaps if hero didn't have a 600 page rulebook it might be more popular. </pokes fun
