To Tampa Gamer - a question
I have added the Ponderosa to my empire, but that's not why I'm posting this. :-)
The Colonials, as tough as they were, could have been much more formidable. SHOULD have been, I think.
In their two HomeWorld systems, there were 4 - count 'em FOUR - ruins worlds of their planet type. There were another two in adjacent systems.
The Colonials did NOT colonize ANY of them!
They colonized 10 or more planets in three or five more distant systems, but not the ruins worlds in their own. They also seemed to have ignored ruins worlds (in some cases moons, but not all) in the systems they colonized.
You might want to look at your AI for that aspect.
(When I encountered them, I saw that they had 6 ruins worlds of their type already in reach, and it scared my poor military half to death!)
Thanx again

Unfortunately we Modders cannot do anything about this behaviour.

Ouch!
I did not know that!
I thought that I had seen the AI lunge for ruins worlds ... to the point of sending colony ships hopeless distances beyond range, at times.
Oh, well.
Sorry Tampa Gamer ---- my bad.
(Perhapos just as well, for me this game, though ;-) )

No problem Jim - everyone gets frustrated by the AI at somepoint. We just keep plugging away to make sure those variables that we CAN control get maximized. Thanks for trying the ModPack.

Re: To Tampa Gamer - a question
Yes the colonization minister is sometimes quite an idiot. I have seen the AI ignoring huge planets with breathable atmosphere just one sector (not system!) away from its homeworld and sending colonizer to small and tiny planets with incompatible atmosphere just because they had a high resource value. The AI could not even make use of this high resource value because the first facilities were of course resupply depot and space port and then there was no more space left on the planets!
That's something quite high on my wishlist for a future patch: make the behaviour of the colonization minister editable or at least give breathable and larger planets a higher priority.
