Default Interesting minor allies

I am still slogging through my long campaign, now May 42 in NA vs. the Brits. I am curious as to comments from those experienced about minor ally choices for some auxilliary units. I have found some intersting choices, albiet not purely historical:

Finns (in the Desert - I know):
The late T-34 - its a T34-42 with the better 76mm!
120mm Mortars (available before the German 120s)

Italians
Their arterillary packages are cheaper for mass barraging with fair ammo loadouts. Less concerned on crew quality as I use my German arty for counterbty.

Hungarians
81mm Mortar - Same ammo loadout with much better range!

Japan (again in the desert )
90mm Mortar - better range also
150mm mortar - maybe a waste of points, but I like bigger booms.

What do others use?

A while back I used a Colonial 25 pdr battery renamed as "Malta Gunners" as a tribute to my father in law.

I also use 25pdrs as german artillery in north africa, on and off-map - in fact, I read that for some time the 90th light division's artillery cinsisted entirely of captured 25pdrs and russian 7,62cm field guns! For on-map use, I gave them some of those SABOT rounds they use in the A/T role to give them some potential as A/T reserve.

I also tested my Kradschuetzen light infantry in the desert and they were great - even if there is little cover.

That is why unit #313 is already there in the Nazi OOB, after all (using the 8.76cm FK280(e))..

Cheers
