Re: Error report - obat12 USA
It's not an OOB error. It's a game code error.

Re: Error report - obat12 USA
Anyway it's an error.
I can't send you private messages, so I'm asking you here - what about Cobras?

Re: Error report - obat12 USA
There have been a great many changes made for this next patch but I have no intention at this time of reviewing the size of every helicopter in the game. I had INTENDED the patch to go out today but it's been delayed due to a number of factors and I'm not going to deplay it any further for that

Re: Error report - obat12 USA
This is rediculous!
While the Cobra's size can wait till next patch - is it so great delay just to enter new EW for Units 120& 121?

Re: Error report - obat12 USA
Dimity, you do not have a CLUE what's involved in building this game. NOT A CLUE.
The "Delay" has NOTHING to do with the Vulcan. The delay has more to do with the constant *****ing about minor things I've had to deal with in the past two weeks that have eaten into the time I have available to prepare the patch and do all the things we wanted to get done and the fact that my entire life does NOT revolve around every last detail of this frigging game.

Re: Error report - obat12 USA
OK.
Understood.
Now you have to try to understand me.
I'm talking not about Vulcan's or Cobra's size - as I said before this can wait till the fall.
I'm talking about Cobra's sky high EW. I have proved documentarily that Unit's 120 and 121 EW has to be around 3 or 4.
If changing EW SETTING in OOB is such a great problem - may be I can help just by sending you corrected OOB?

Re: Error report - obat12 USA
The issue here is the fact that it wouldn't be just changing it with regards to the USA OOB, but making sure its consistant with the OOBs. There are probably over a dozen AH-1s scattered across 6 or 7 OOBs or more. A quick survey found EW ranging for 2-8, and little consistancy. Its more work than just entering a new value, because doing it without a mind to the rest of the OOBs and other game elements means people are likely to complain in the opposite direction.
Furthermore, in terms of defensive qualities, the AH-1 series at the beginning has very little in way of improvements from the UH-1 except for its shape, which is dramatically redefined. Over its history, however, it gets significant changes in this quality. The "sugar" scoop exhaust suppression system, the M130 chaff/flare launcher near the tail, the AN/ALQ-144 pulsed infrared jammer, and redesigned rotor blades with reduced radar signiture. Its more than just IR defense. Chaff is not for IR defense.

Re: Error report - obat12 USA
Dear thatguy96,
you know, all this discussion seems to be no more than an excuse with the purpose not to change Cobra's EW.
But.
Concerning all that you said I can propose a compromise.
Only US Cobra's have such high EW of 8 during 80's - no other country choppers have anything like this.
So the decision is simple - to make Unit's 120 and 121 EW of 6.
EW 6 - is the standard EW for almost all other Cobra's modifications all over the world for the 80's.
So there will be no conflicts.
OK?
BTW all these radar jammers appeared in 90's on the late Cobra modifications - there are no documentary proofs that AH-1H had such jammer equipment. Am I wrong?
