Default Question re some AT weapons

I have a couple of questions:
1. Re RPG-29 (and, to a lesser extent, DC RPG-7 and 27) rounds. According to all web available intel, the RPG-29 has a penetrating power way beyond the 60 cms/600 mms accredited by the game. Most sources claim 700-800 mms behind ERA, which seems to be confirmed by Russian trials where its warhead penetrated the frontal arch of a T-90 on numerous occations. The Metis-M with a game penetration of some 900 mms was unable to do this, and the Vikhr penetrated the front only once or twice. I know this is an easy fix, but why is it so?
2. The KEM is given a HEAT penetration of 200 cms. It is supposed to be a Kinetic Energy Missile, right, so why? Is it impossible for the game to identify an ATGM with a KE penetrator?

Thanks,
Spike

Hmm, just check two generally reliable sources fro the RPG-29, Rosoboroneksport and Worldguns.rugive "over 600mm behind ERA", and Waffen der Welt gives 750mm without specifying ERA or not. I expect Rosoboroneksport to be somewhat optimistic on the system, since they're the ones selling it.
I can't reach Vasili Fofanov's page on the T-90 trials right now, if you have other sources on these trials do share, it's never superfluous.

As for KE missiles, I don't know the official opinion of the design team on this, but as far as I have tested, they can use AP ratings rather than HEAT.
Actually I've used much more KE guided weapons in my Cold War mod than are currently being used IRL, where it isn't much of a problem anymore these days.

For those interested, it is possible to give KE missiles a basic AP penetration instead of HEAT. These missiles will behave accordingly against armor (i.e. against steel armor as opposed to HEAT armor), the penetration will not draw down with distance, and they will be much less vulnerable to ERA than HEAT missiles. I haven't encountered any bugs with this, so I also applied it to EFP-based top-attack missiles, on the assumption that EFP kinetics are closer from AP than HEAT warheads.
But as I said, there aren't any guided KE weapons nearing service anywhere in the real world, so this isn't exactly a problem.

Thanks for the comments re KE ATGMs, it made things somewhat clearer (and I've already changed the penetration ratings for the missiles included in the game to AP...).

Re the RPG-29, I do not remember exactly where I found the results of the Russian army tests, and my brief web browse earlier today came up with nothing. However, I'll see what I can rediscover later, the results and conclusions drawn by the Russians were crystal clear. The impact the RPG-29 reportedly had against Merkavas in Lebanon also seems to support this.

He who searches is from time to time rewarded... Several sites, including Wikipedia, made references to the tests without providing anything resembling a link. However, this article - http://iraqwar.mirror-world.ru/article/97442 - presents a reasonably thorough examination of the results... with pictures!

I'll do some searches myself and see if I can find some independent varification to those sources. I wouldn't give you 2 cents for that website though their links seem legit.

I agree, that site is beyond questionable, but I have seen the same results on more reputable pages (if I only could find them...). I'll do some more research as well.
