Default Satellite question

I've noticed that only one talisman is needed for the whole group of satellites to gain the sure-hit bonus. What about the ECM and Long Range Jammer? If I only have 1 ECM III will the whole group gets the 65% bonus? Same goes to the stealth and scattering armour?

Yes, you've hit on the problem. It's true that a satellite group is treated like a single 'ship' and only one combat sensor in the stack will help them all. I'm not so sure about ECM. When I stack sats with ECM and without I notice that the ones without get hit much more frequently. But anyway, there's no way to control what order sats get hit in. It used to be that they were destroyed in the reverse order of their placement so you could put the 'brain' sat first and then put armor-filled sats Last and have a sort of gigantic 'composite' battleship. Sometime in the patches it was randomized, though.

There is some good news. You can control how satellites fire their weapons by how you place them. The first sats in the stack will fire first. So typically you put the direct-fire weapon satellites first because direct-fire weapons hit immediately. And of course you put shield depleters before standard beams so they get the shields before the other weapons fire. Then you put seekers Last so they only target what is left after the direct-fire weapons have destoyed everything they can.

And does all of the above apply to fighters and WeapPlats, as well?

In the Demo the damage was done alpabetically by SAT name. But it was different at home (ver 1.41 ???).

The firing order was alphabetical both in the demo and at home using the simulator. I have not checked ver 1.49.

I play strategic, not tactical so maybe some one
highly rated could check it out.
