Default A quick question of servers and emos

Say I was to create a Myspace site. Would this allow me to use the site to host multiplayer games? The files can't take up much space...

I thought you needed the full game on the server?

I'm actually not too clear on one hosts a game, so you're probably right. I guess I'll just keep waiting, then...

A normal game requires a computer that's on, connected to the net, and running the game in host mode. You could use an ftp site as a drop for the game files instead of email for a pbem game.

Wait, that's it? I thought you needed a server of some kind...

You do.

There's nothing magic about a server though.

A computer that's on, connected to the net and running the game as host qualifies.

If you've got a firewall, and you should, you'll probably have to configure it to allow connections on whatever port you set the game up on.

Ooh, sounds easy. I thought you needed some kind of website to host it on. Thanks for the explanation, all!
