Default Recruiting National Units away from home ?????

I have build several fortresses (with temples and labs in the same province), and although the new provinces allow me to build most of my national units, none (except my original fortress) allows me to recruit Niefel Jarls and Niefel Gaints. Am I doing something incorrectly or are some units only able to be build in your initial province?

*smile* You're doing just fine. Every nation has specific units that can only be recruited from the capital.

To know which those are, left-click on the various locations in your home province. They will indicate that they "allow you to recruit Niefel Jarls" and "allow you to recruit Niefel Giants." Since none of your other fortresses have those locations, you can't recruit Jarls and Giants there.

There are units which can only be recruited where a particular magic site appears, and only by the site's original owner. This is used to enforce a 'capital-only' restriction on some national troops.

Some national units can only be built in your capital province.

Certain magic sites bestow the ability to recruit unique units and your starting province usually has atleast a couple of these. So you will only be able to recruit those units from your home province.

I will toss in another. (I cant help it)

Check your national sites. As far as I know, any units that are granted by a magic site in your capital cannot be recruited away from home.

The description usually says something like it being a special grove or a special cave that allows you to get those units so it makes sense that its the only location you get them from.

Did I miss it, or does Sunray's compiled list of units fail to mention which units are capital-only? This is important information when you're trying to plan a nation build...
