If the current patch is unplayable, then let us have whatever improvements were in 1.01 or something.

They're up to at least 1.07 now according to the fix list...
Just release 1.07 now if the next build isn't ready!!

Also because of the many ways SE5 is distributed the patch release process may be longer than it has been for say SE4. Steam needs it own loving and so do the direct download people and then the cd people need some too. It may have taken longer than expected to get the patch distributed to the various places. This is some new ground for SE games and in the case of Steam is new ground for alot of the games industry sometimes there are just unexpected problems.

As far as I know, the downloaded SE5 is just a download of the setup file that comes on the CD. Patching them would just require a link on the site.
Edit: Actually, did anyone purchase the download version? If so, I'd like to know the size of the setup file to compare to the CD setup exe.

It's OK, Aaron will release the patch when it's ready. He has never let us down before.
Although it doesn't really matter to me if the patch is late because here in Canada we still don't have the game yet.   |

Another good reason to release patches sooner rather than later is that bug reports will be current, instead of duplicated old news.

Another reason to release on time is it displays visible control and makes you look like a god.
