IIRC its a known issue that is limited only to certain maps, and happens because of a certain way the map author saved the .tga file.
I don't know how to fix it, but I suppose if you have something like Photoshop you could try and open the .tga and resave it using different settings and see which works.

You have to write ".tga" and not ".TGA"

Just tell me which maps and I'll have a look at them!?

Generally, make sure to save as 24-/32-bit .tga with RGB colours (not indexed, e.g. Irfanview is notoriously misleading about this) with RLE compression (Run Length Encoding) and 0,0 to the lower left (if you can set this in your software).

You can use Dom2 maps in Dom3, and I think many players will do so.
It may be even the case that the same error will appear with Dom3. On the other hand, there have been some changes to the graphics routines in that 'area' - Dom3 supports .rgb additionally to .tga graphics now ... .

Would be interesting to test, though. Therefore I would be glad if you could provide me with some details.

Just found this old thread.

Try the "Arduria" map found at http://www.illwinter.com/dom2/maps.html.

In Dom3 the map doesn't show at all. No big deal any more though.

Dom3 added the use of the "apha" channel for transparency.
Dom2 ignored it.
So many maps for dom2 had it in there but it wasnt used. Now bringing it up in Dom3 makes parts or all of it transparent.

Eventually, someone will probably end up fixing all of the old maps that people like. Thanks for posting one that needs fixing.
