Sargent Shultz, to much metwurst?
Hi All
I have noticed that German cyclists in the game get size 2 their French opponents get size 1. Is there any reason for this or maybe just an oversight?
Best Regards Chuck

Re: Sargent Shultz, to much metwurst?
Hi DRG
I mean Bicyclists not Motorcyclists of course. I would have thought size one would have been a good size for bicyclists? At size 2 they seem to have a very hard time operating as normal infantry. Making them size one of course saves the problem of "dismounting" them so they can operate as normal infantry. And at size 1 they still get hit pretty hard when theyre fired at while traveling at full speed.
Best Regards Chuck.

Bicycle infantry is size 2 except the one error you noted. (France and Vichy France were both affected so that's technically 2 errors )

Re: Sargent Shultz, to much metwurst?
Hi again
I had a quick look at the encyclopedia and I found that Japanese and Italian bicycles are also size 1.(I think maybe in v6 all bicycles were size 2) The Belgians have a HMG bicycle squad and this has a size of 0. It seems whereever bicycles can be found they are size 1 except for the Germans. I seem to remember Hungary and Rumania also used to have bicycles but couldnt find any. Anyway I guess that when alocating bicycle size most OOB designers thought it better not to penalise the infantry role of the bicycle squad at the cost if ignoring the extra profile of being on a bicycle. I like this approach as front on profile is pretty much unchanged and side on a bicycle is pretty thin anyway. I guess you could also say that for most of a game turn they would be fighting dismounted anyway. Not that its any of my business but maybe it would be easier to change the Germans down rather than find the other nationalities bicycles and move them up in size.
Best Regards Chuck.

Re: Sargent Shultz, to much metwurst?
Strange... when I checked the Netherlands the bicycle units were size 2 . When I checked the Czechs and Slovaks the bicycle units were size 2. When I checked Sweden the bicycle units were size 2
I guess we both checked the wrong nations
I will correct this issue so it's consistant across all OOB's
