Re: GD MF\'ing FIREFOX
Ok, so how do you get a Tab bar to remain under your address bar? I used to a tool bar with an icon that allowed me to open a new tab sitting right under the address bar. I no longer have that.
God this is a pain in the ***!

Re: GD MF\'ing FIREFOX
In Mozilla, its:
Navigator -> Tabbed Browsing -> [X] Hide the tab bar when only one tab is open.
CTRL-T should open a new tab, and there are options for middle-click and CTRL-enter to open their targets in a new tab too.
I never click the new tab icon, because these other options are so much quicker. Either middle clicking links, or CTRL-T followed immediately by typing a URL.
BTW, I have never lost bookmarks in Moz, even in the rare instances of crashing.

Re: GD MF\'ing FIREFOX
It's a common thing with Firefox for some users.
However, if you've been using the most updated version of firefox (1.5+) then Firefox saves bookmarks each day in a folder that can be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\'User Name'\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.3qu

Re: GD MF\'ing FIREFOX
Thanks guys, but there were no back ups. I think when it crashed it somehow deleted my defualt profile and well with it everything I had.
Hell I even lost NetScape too.
I don't know what happened. I was reading the forum went to dinner, came back and tried to open a bookmark to the Beta forum and crash. When I went to restart FF it would not. So I rebooted the PC. When I started FF I had nothing left. No default profile, no Atrocities profile, nothing.
So I started up Netscape and discovered that it was not working as well. IE worked, but we know where that leads.
I have managed to find about 20% of my old links. I lost all of my Tribes, BOTF, Rebellion, Legal, Bike, Cat, and even a Few SEIV links.
I guess it was bound to happen. Things were just going too good.

Re: GD MF\'ing FIREFOX
Thanks SJ, I appreciate the tip, it worked.
Kwok, thanks for the info, I was able to find a listing of my old Extensions and grab them. The FTP one won't work though. Any good suggestions for download extentions, and or FTP extentions?
What about plug ins?

Re: GD MF\'ing FIREFOX
Did you check the application directory like I suggested? I'd find it unlikely that it was fried...

Re: GD MF\'ing FIREFOX
Yes, the only thing in it was the extension info. Believe me I went through it with a fine tooth comb.
I have a few folks that I know that will send me the links I lost over time. I found the BOTF page with an easy search so I am a bit more optomistic about this now. Besides it gives me a chance to re-organize my bookmark folder and from this point forward I will do regular back ups of it.
Thanks again.
Say do you have a link to the Wiki site and Encylopidia site?

Re: GD MF\'ing FIREFOX
Yeah I had the same thing happen too. It seams that if your using a weeb browser other than something Micrsoft put out it is destined to craxh at some point on a Windows machine...
