Default Repair bays

Searched the entire forum and the question remains: do RB's on the same ship stack? Or is it a sector thing? How about a SY and RB on the same ship?

Thnx.

1) All repair bays in the sector are added together.
2) Then your racial modifiers are applied
3) All repair points are applied to an arbitrary ship which has at least one component in your priority list which is damaged (see the budget screen, repair priorities is a button there)
4) Priority components are fixed first, in the order of placement on the ship.
5) Then non-priority components on the same ship are repaired in order of placement.
6) If the ship is completely repaired before all the points are used up, goto 3 and pick a new ship to repair.

I love you math guys who know all this stuff. Perhaps your answer should be added to the FAQ? What do you think?

Good idea, but it's already there.

"5.5 Repairs and Retrofitting"

Has all that good stuff, although according to Douglas the order the ships are repaired in is not completely arbitrary. It might as well be arbitrary since we can't control it ourselves I suppose.

I tend to build ships brimming with repair bays. You don't need them often, due to poor stock shield balance, but you tend to need a lot on the occasion you do need them.

When I do extensive retrofitting, I usually build a few stations with lots of repair bays too.
