Default avalable weapon indicatior bug ?, ATGM vs helo ?

I have impression available shots indicator is not correct - it's showing weapon as available, (like 4.2.2.1), even if it can not be used - for example there is no ammo, or no available moves in this turn. Shouldn't it go into .0 if there is no ammo/moves ?
Another question - all ATGM, even wire guided ones can be shot at the helicopter succesfully. AI is using them as SAM extensevly. Is it a bug or feature ?

ATGM can target missles at helos if the Helos aren't moving very fast. That's normal game behaviour

Hi,

A landed Helicopter is an excellent target for ATGM, so perhaps you should rephrase your question using the term fast flying helicopter.

cheers,

But I think most of (all ?) ATGM can not raise 100m above the ground

What is the altitude of most of (all?) hovering attack helos?
Look at their field of view in the game and you'll see the helos fly a perfect nap-of-the-earth pattern.

Even tanks can fire at elos if these stay at the same place long enough. And most tank guns can't elevate above +15.

I don't know about max ATGM altitude, although I guess at 100m above ground you have no more ground effect portency (particularly with such a small, fast carrier-body frame), so you can climb as much as you want providing the sighting units allows you so. What would you do to fire uphill otherwise?

you are sure they were set at high altitude? Right-click, altitude cursor top-right showing "high altitude"?

If so, alright, I must take back what I said about tank guns and so on... but not necessarily about ATGMs. I told, technically I see no reason to limit ATGMs at a given altitude. That could count as a security rule, but well, it IS a weapon, so someone getting hurt is just the aim of it. Admittedly the lower you fly it the stealthier you stay. But you have also so much chances to trip your wire in a tree or something. I don't know how the manufacturers think, but when I reflect about this, my conclusion would be that the lesser restrictions you have the more unexpected things you can do! And unexpected acts are half of the victory (can be, anyway).
But if you show me hard data saying that some ATGM manufacturers have created such restrictions, well, I guess I'll have to believe you! After all these guys are engineers

I'll check again. I had a bunch of high altitude helos, and they were shot at by ATGM, but may be the one which was hit had low altitude...
