Nope, not in windowed mode. Only in full screen mode.

When you notice these flashes? I mean, always or only when a specific menu is in sight(example, in the scenario selection menu)?
Just about always and it occurs at random times ,seems to anyways. I am not too concerned iut doesn't seem to bother anything. I will keep an eye on it.
So - is rhe common thread here:
- All experiencing it when in full screen DirectX mode
- all have a laptop
- All have therefore some sort of power management routine going on (unlike most desktops)

If so - is it happening when running on battery or mains or both?

if so - what happens if you run off mains and shut all power-management stuff off temporarily?

if the problem then goes away, it would seem to be related to an interaction between full screen DirectX and the power management system on (some?) laptops.

Just a wild guess, but I wonder if it's the case?

Cheers
Andy

I have a desktop PC, but a LCD Monitor; this could be related to LCDs somehow...

It doesn't seem so. One of the early reports of this was on a CRT.

Trust us... this is very frustrating and we **ARE** trying to figure out what combination of HW/SW is casuing this and the more info people who encounter this give us the better. It's very difficult when it runs rock solid on the programmers two machines and mine as well.

Don't worry about it too much Don, it's a great game, take
your time sniffing out this bug.

Happens on my desktop, too.

I noticed that it happened much more when I had several programs open at the same time while working on icons. I had WinSPMBT, PSP, Mobhack, W.Explorer, ShpEd, and Media Player(background music ) all open at the same time and the flashing was pretty constant.

Of course, it still happens with nothing else open, but not so distractingly.

That pretty much describles my normal operating enviroment during development exactly. However, I would be running windowed not full screen as I assume you were?? However, I'm running WinME and WinME doesn't flash on full screen ( for me anyway but lately I've been wishing it would )
