Default Does the intel problem affect PBW games?

We are having a discussion for Deathstalker's game on PBW: should we voluntarily restrict intel operations because of the problem with intel in 1.41.

The question is: Has anyone seen this problem seriously unbalance or affect a PBW or PBEM game?

rumor has it, the longest running game on PBW to my knowledge (Rapid Turnover) fell apart due to the intel bug.

Pukes Real Game (maybe second longest running now? i dont see any others that i recall being there during the beta) is in the process of hashing out voluntary intel restrictions.

Well, I'm in the Rapid game. It has gotten pretty ugly. I have avoided using intel against any human players, but I know we had a couple players replaced and the new people may not have got the whole picture about the limitations on intel usage.

This bug is definetly a bad one. It can very easily become a serious problem. I hope it gets fixed soon.

I ahve seen at least 3 other games on PBW wiped out because of the bug as well besides the Rapid game.

My suggestion is you disable intel in any game you are starting until it is fixed, unless it is with players you are very familier with and everybody is comitted to sticking with the game. Even an agreement can break down if a player has to be replaced.

In a 16 player private game I am in, we had to change all intell facilities into research facilities by changing the data files on the server.
The bug almost brought down the entire game and we lost several players because of it.

Hopefully it is soon solved

It meant that only the first counter intel project could have a chance to stop them. ALL intel projects against u after the first one would automatically be successful.
