Re: Beta Testers Needed
For those who've signed on as beta testers, will there be some information on what feedback you'd like? Has it been difficult to get responses in the past from those pesky beta persons? Or perhaps there's been a deluge of info, so much that the beta folk need to pare down their rants? Just a note to get things started.

Re: Beta Testers Needed
Guess I'm the only one who wants to write. I'm fairly chomping at the bit for some gaming goodness, and the chance to comment on them. Here's hoping that others are too. Does anyone have a wishlist for designers. A short list of features that are a must for upcoming games to consider. I've noticed that Shrapnel seems very sensitive to the gaming community and tries to provide a good mix of titles and genres, as well as a host of features. Also, what is everyone playing right now?

One more thing before I hit the books, and perhaps some Bach. If you were to recommend one Shrapnel game for someone to pick up, which one would it be and why?

Re: Beta Testers Needed
gbrutt,
This thread was started for informational purposes only when I first put out the call for beta testers. You should have access to a private beta forum near the bottom of the forum list. That is where I am announcing all new tests and the beta test discussion is going on. There is also a thread in that forum for all the new beta test members to check in!
Thanks!

Just my 2 cents worth....
The two heavy traffic games at the moment seem to be Space Empires IV and Dominions 2. SEIV is space 4x, lots of mods, hundreds of player created races, great strategy and lots of replayability. Dom2 is medieval/fantasy/magic, a very deep strategy which takes quite awhile to fully grasp (but thats one of the fun things about it), and offers over a year of play before you even feel a need to look at the mods for it.
Another point since we were talking beta-testing is that Dom will be having a new version coming up for beta-testing here.
There are other games here with various niches. Real world war both historical and present-time, an excellent remake of M.U.L.E., or for those who are real eager do-it-your-selfers there is a very nice game engine to build your own game off of. Hmmmm and some others I know Im missing...
