Ok here it is V1.3
Now with added support for long descriptions
You can now use more than 6 lines for mod descriptions

Anyway, Quikngruvn, I'd like to credit you with the idea, after all you did pip me to the post as far as getting the first mod-picker out goes

To look forward to in V1.4 (I hope)
- Savegame Selection!
- Savegame Isolation! (Never again will you load a P&N game when you meant a DevNull Game)
[Edit : Not sure if I'll include Savegame Isolation because some people will just want all of their savegames in one area. i.e. not scattered throughout the mod directories]

I would prefer to save a game under the mod it is for. It gets to confusing when they are all under the same folder.

Dracus : I agree, but unfortunately that means when you set up the game in the first place you have to remember to specify <modname>/Savegame as the save directory.

I will put *support* for savegame isolation into a later Version, but for now I'll just support Generic Savegames.

I already do this as I have 6 to 8 mod's plus the pbw game, plus my development games.

Here it is already!
Space Empires IV Mod Picker Utility V 1.4 BETA!
This Version takes a ground-breaking step in mod picking history by introducing SAVEGAME functionality.

Note this is a beta and is limited as follows :-
Savegames must be located in Savegame\*.gam (default place in other words)
My current work is both towards specifying the Savegame path yourself and searching in specific <modname>\savegame directories for mods (which will auto-load the correct mod)

Please note that if you enter the wrong player number or password SE4 will NOT tell you
it will just quietly close and look like nothing has happened.

As usual there are 3 flavours

.ace (145 K)

This is the one you've all been waiting for!

Automatic Savegame detection (Clause 1)
Automatic Mod Loading (Clause 2)

I hope you all enjoy this as much as I enjoy making it.

[Clause 1 : Savegames must be in \Savegame or <Modname>\Savegame directory]
[Clause 2 : There is now no way to load a savegame that is not for a specified MOD without moving the file or just launching SE4 with the MOD required]

One final note: SPREAD THE WORD
This could save so many people so much time
Especially when I finish writing my Mod Editor and link the two programs together (Disclaimer : This may never be finished and both programs will NOT require each other)

VERY cool. I like the load save-game feature, but is there a way to make it remember player slot and password for individual save slots? also, there is no error reporting if an invalid save slot or password are chosen, which is fine by me, but you may wish to monkey proof it.

edit: and how do we go about getting this utility packaged with the next patch?

That looks really nice. The "x" button looks a little large, though.

I couldn't help but notice the Pirates mod you have in your list.
