Time for another touchy- feely get-to-know-you thread.
OK, we've had the "where are you from" thread and "your favourite book", and since I've just got back from the pub I thought I'd start another one: "What do you drink?"
Me then:
-Lager mostly, especially French and Belgian lager.
-NOT Budweiser, which ain't so good.
-Weissbeer (ie Hoegaarden) is my favourite but it's hard to find round here.
Also partial to:
-good wine (French Merlot is my favourite, but anything decent will do),
-whiskies (Irish or scotch) and
-brandy.
DON'T like:
-Bad wine
-Bitter (Dark beers)
-Stout (ie Guinness, Murphy's)
-tequila =-p
-sweet alcoholic drinks
-cheap cider (been ill on that once too often.)
When I'm driving I'll have half a pint of orange juice mixed with half a pint of cola. Delicious=-) Great hangover cure as well.
BTW, half a pint= ~0.25 litres, for all you metric types out there.

Captain Spoogy prefers a nice cold Coca-Cola or if that's not availible, some nice cold chocolate milk. Oh yeah.

Re: Time for another touchy- feely get-to-know-you thread.
When I do drink (which is less often than I used to), I usually go for an Icehouse or a hard lemonade-type, lice Doc Otis or Mike's Hard Lemonade. Sometimes Rolling Rock or Woodchuck, but I can't drink any other beer.
Liquor's gotten me in trouble lately, but I still occasionally drink vodka (mixed with just about anything), amaretto, Crown Royal, and tequila (but only in margaritas). I can't do rum anymore: the Last time I drank it, I has an excruciating visit with the Porcelain Goddess...
Oh yeah, and SWEET TEA! (If you've never been to the Southern US, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. That may be my biggest gripe when I travel north or west-- you can't get sweet tea! )
Quikngruvn (sober for the time being)

Re: Time for another touchy- feely get-to-know-you thread.
Water, water, water. Occasionally milk, occasionally fruit juice. But frankly I drink lots of water. I hate anything carbonated. Carbonation burns your nose and throat and the sugar/phosphorus content of "soft drinks" actually makes you thirstier. Distilled liquors are even worse than carbonated 'beers', though it's the alchohol rather than the carbonation that burns your throat -- and I don't think those do much for your thirst either. Besides, how can you concentrate on managing your empire if you're getting intoxicated?
It's funny, I'm not against alchohol 'on principle' as it were. I just find almost any alchoholic drink revolting. About the only thing alchoholic that I can stand are light, sweet wines. NOT champagne, carbonation again...

I too drinks lots of water. However, I do love a good carbonated beverage on occasion. Not that domestic (US) swill crap, but the good stuff. Sam Adams, Corona, pretty much anything from Germany, and various other micro-brews.
Then, there is gin and vodka. Mmmmm, vodka, arrhahghghg (said in Homer Simpson gargle).

Re: Time for another touchy- feely get-to-know-you thread.
Milk. Two litres of milk a day, straight from the neighbour's cow. Ok, I boil it first, it isn't straight from the cow. This is down from 4 litres a day when I was 16. Mom threatened to kick me out of the house, but now credits my height to the vast amount of milk consumed.
Then, in the evening, Gin and Tonic. Bombay Sapphire. After all, tonic has quinine in it and helps prevent malaria, which is very important :-)

Re: Time for another touchy- feely get-to-know-you thread.
I drink at least a gallon of water a day, if not more. Seeing as I live in the desert, and I dehydrate easily, that's a good thing. I don't like anything carbonated, so I stay away form that kind of stuff.
As for alcohol, its just not my thing anymore. Im wholly unpleasant when inebriated, so that is a state I try to avoid. Im not a fan of beer cause its carbonated, or the hard stuff cause it (to quote Homer Simpson) tastes like burning.
In my period of experimentation, I found I could drink anything if it was mixed with chocolate milk. My favorite poison then was Wild Turkey, and I dubbed the drink Cow Tipper. I found that combination most pleasing.
Now that Im actually of age, the thrill of it all is lost. I just dont do it anymore, save the occasional bottle of wine with my girl.
