Warp point closing error?
Has anyone ever had problems with multiple computer-controlled Close Warp Point ships converging and crashing the game? I'm assuming that they are all trying to close a warp point that was closed when the first ship got there.
Background (for those who want more details): A crash kept occuring on the Romulans' turn. I tracked it down to three or so Close Warp Point ships converging on one sector. I couldn't even avert it by controlling them because the order had already been given and was being executed. The ONLY way I managed to kill them was by controlling the nearby Sallega empire who happened to have an attack ship in the system. I doubt I'll be as lucky next time, though...has anyone ever had this happen to them? I'm using the latest Romulan AI and have never seen it happen before with any other race; was this just a fluke?
TIA,
zen

Yes I had the same problem and mailed the savegame to MM. Unfortunately (as usual) I did not get a reply from them, so I do not know if they received and corrected it.

Re: Warp point closing error?
Ah, okay, thanks! I'm glad it wasn't just me. How can people play for hundreds of turns and never have this happen? I'm only on turn 75 right now starting out with medium tech AND medium research costs and it's already happening. Logic would dictate that over the course of hundreds of turns, the AI would have attempted at some point to target multiple Close Warp Point ships on the same spot.

Never try to apply logic to what the AI is doing. In any game. You'll just hurt yourself.

Nah, those are all observations of AI behaviour. Not attempts to apply logic to that behaviour.
What kind of creeps me out is that you took the time to look up those old quotes. My very first forum stalker!

Re: Warp point closing error?
LOL... sorry, that was just too funny.
On-topic: Yah, the mode switch that the AI does every turn when it assesses its situation does lead to a little ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), doesn't it?

Creepy, huh!?
Or as I put when my wife is bugging me about my game cravings:

Och hon lter dig komma undan med det? Kvinnor brukar annars vara rtt bra p att tala om fr en vad man ska gra nr man sger ngot sdant.
And now a translation to all the non-Swedes out there:
"Vad, d? Jag har ju inget bttre fr mig.."
"What? I don't have anything better to do.."
"Och hon lter dig komma undan med det? Kvinnor brukar annars vara rtt bra p att tala om fr en vad man ska gra nr man sger ngot sdant. "
"And she lets you get away with that? Women are usually pretty good at telling you what to do when you say something like that. "
Now bone up on Swedish real good everybody for when I've conquered the Earth that's going to be the official language.
